There are two methods to install Optimistic Blog theme. You may either upload the zipped theme file using the WordPress theme installer (Recommended), or you can upload the unzipped theme folder via FTP (Advanced).
Method 1 ( Recommended) : Install theme using the WordPress theme installer

Log into your WordPress site and you'll see your admin dashboard.

Go to Appearance > Themes in the dashboard.

Click on the Add New button.

Then click on Upload Theme button.

Click on Choose File button. Search and select optimistic-blog.zip theme file.

Click on Install Now button.
Method 2: Install theme using File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

Unzip “optimistic-blog.zip” file on your computer.

Login using FTP client to access your host web server.

Locate the wp-content folder in your WordPress installed files.

Upload the un-zipped optimistic-blog folder into the: wp-content/themes folder.
Activate the theme

Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel.

Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress menu

Hover over the theme thumbnail and click the Activate button.

Demo Import is recommended only if you're finding it difficult to set up your site. You'll provided with the files using which you can import demo contents. The files are inside your theme package under folder name demo-import-files. The folder includes three files, demo-content.xml, demo-customize.dat and demo-widget.wie.
To import demo content, you've to install "One Click Demo Import" plugin which is recommended. Once you've installed the plugin, you'll see 'Import Demo Data' when you hover on Appearance on your dashboard. Click on it, and it will take you to page to import your demo contents. Upload necessary files and click on Import Demo Data button to import demo contents.
Note : For customizing, you must be logged into your site's dashboard. Every Customization options are included in customizer. So you must go to theme customizer for customizing.

Click on Theme Options.

There you'll see following options:
- Enable Banner
- Select Banner Layout
- Select Category For Banner
- Posts Number
- Display Post Categories
- Display Post Title
- Display Post Date

Uncheck, Enable Banner, to disable banner section. With unchecking the option, other slider related options will not be displayed.

There are four banner layouts. They are as follows:
Banner One(Available in Pro)
Banner Two
Banner Three(Available in Pro)
Banner Four
Note: Some options may be active of hidden when selecting banner layouts.

By default, latest posts will be displayed in banner. If you want to display posts of specific category, set the category from Select Category For Banner option.

By default, total number of banner posts is 5, you can change the number from Posts Number

By default, post categories are shown. If you want categories hidden, uncheck, Display Post Categories option.

By default, post title is shown. If you want title hidden, uncheck, Display Post Title option.

By default, post date is shown. If you want it hidden, uncheck, Display Post Date option.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Theme Options.

Click on Home Page. There you'll see following options:
- Select Post Listing Layout

There are five layouts for listing posts.
- One Column List Layout
- Two Columns List Layout
- Two Columns Grid Layout(Available In Pro)
- Masonry Grid Layout
- Masonry Grid Layout(No Sidebar)(Available in Pro)
Select any one layout.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.
The changes made in this section are visible in all the archive pages such as category page, author page, tag page etc...

Click on Theme Options.

Click on Archive Page. There you'll see following options:
- Select Post Listing Layout

Select any one layout.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Theme Options.

Click on Post Page. There you'll see following options:
- Show Author and Date
- Show Post Tags and Views Count
- Show Related Posts
- Numbers of Related Posts

Check on Show Author and Date, to show author name and post date.

Check on Show Post Tags and Views Count, to show post tags and number of post views.

Check on Show Related Posts, to show relatd posts. If this option is active, then option, Numbers of Related Posts will be active.

Set the number of related posts to be displayed from, Numbers of Relted Posts option.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Theme Options.

Click on Others. There you'll see following options:
- Enable Social Post Sharing(Available In Pro)
- Post Link Button Title(Available In Pro)
- Excerpt Length
- Default Image(Available In Pro)

Check on Enable Social Post Sharing, to display option to share post via social sites.

Set title of post link from Post Link Button Title option.

Excerpt legth is the no of words of content of post that is displayed. Excerpt is used in blog page, archive pages, search page etc... Set the lenght of excerpt from, Excerpt Length option.

Set default image which is displayed when featured image is not set for a post. Set it from, Default Image option.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Theme Options.

Click on Links. There you'll see options to set links of social sites.

Set links of social sites.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Site Identity

There are following options:
-
Logo: Set Logo of your site.
-
Site Title: Set the title of your site.
-
Tagline: Set short description of your site.
-
Display Site Title and Tagline: Check to display site title and tagline. Uncheck to hide.

Site Icon: Set the favicon of your site. It is displayed on the tab of your browser.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Colors. There you'll see following options:
- Header Text Color
- Background Color
- Theme Color(Available In Pro)

Set color of site's title from, Header Text Color option.

Set site's background color from, Background Color option.
-
Set theme color from, Theme Color option.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.

Click on Background Image

There are following options:
-
Background Image: Click on Select image to add background image.

To remove the background image, click on Remove button.

To change the background image, click on Change button.
-
Choose background property from options Preset and Image Position.

Check on Repeat Background Image option, if you want your background image to be repeated.

To save the configuration, click on Publish button.
Instagram Feed is displayed just above footer section. The section of instagram feed is a widget area called Instagram Widget Area.
- Log into your WordPress site and then you'll see your dashboard.
- Go to Appearance > Widgets in the dashboard menu

There you'll see list of available widgets and three widget areas, Sidebar, Instagram Widget Area and Footer. There are 6 custom widgets, OB: Author, OB: Instagram Feed, OB: Popular Posts, OB: Recent Posts, OB: Social and OB: Trending Posts.
- Drag and Drop OB: Instagram Feed in Instagram Widget Area
- Enter Access Token, select Image Size and No of Images to be displayed. Then save the widget.
This theme supports the Custom CSS, which overwrites the CSS of the main stylesheet file, so that you can apply some CSS to change the look of the site as you desire. Also, this changes will still remain even if you update the theme.
Additional CSS
- Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS
- Open > Additional CSS and Add Custom CSS as per your requirement
- Click Publish to save the changes.
